Curators wanted

As our project draws to a close, we’re looking for volunteers who will help us curate our final exhibition, to be held during this year’s E17 Art Trail. Could that be you?

volunteer-recruitment-macroIt was 18 months ago that we first set out on what turned out to be a mamouth journey to chart the history of Polish migration to Waltham Forest. Ten archive visits, three outreach events, 13 oral history interviews and countless pierogi later we have a comprehensive package of materials that tells a story that spans over 180 years.

Now our task is to edit down the collection of interviews, photos and archive materials to create our final exhibition. And for that we need you.

The exhibition will take place this summer at Vestry House Museum, during the E17 Art Trail. However we’re starting work on it now. Our initial training day will take place on Saturday 24th January, and be led by Mark Burton, local photographer and Art Trail regular. Being involved will give you the opportunity gain insights in how to stage an exhibition, the opportunity to learn about a fascinating part of local history and be part of an enthusiastic team of community minded people.
