Do you have a Polish connection?

Our project is moving into the second stage and for that we need YOU! Are you Polish or have a Polish connection in your family. We want to hear your family’s story of migration.

A4_PORTRAITPolish people make up 5% of the Waltham Forest population. But not everyone with Polish blood came over to the UK in the 1990s. Poles have been migrating to this area since the mid 1800s. It’s surprising how many people have Polish blood in their family.

We’re trying to collect stories of the families who migrated. Maybe you only came across a few years ago, or maybe it was your great-great-grandfather who made the voyage. Either way we want to hear from you.

We have two events where you can come and join us, share in some Polish food and meet our volunteers who will capture the story from your family. They are:

  1. Saturday 16th August (5pm at 8pm) at Miod Malina, 127 High Street Walthamstow
  2. Sunday 7th September (2pm to 3pm) at St Patrick’s Church, 61 Blackhorse Road, Walthamstow

The events are free, as is the food. Please come along and share with us your Polish heritage stories.
